So I have a sewing machine. I even took lessons. But patterns have this repellent effect on me: even though it can take me weeks to knit a cardigan, spending more than a few minutes on obscure sketches I don’t understand drives me mad. Anyway, that’s how I tested the 30 minutes kimono (for dummies).
You just have to look at the drawings, convert inches in cm in my case, and avoid any mistakes when you turn the thing inside out and again (I did make the mistake, the pattern is so simple, it was the only trap I could fell into). And a good thing for me, my first summer fabric did not fray. I’d like to mention also that I’m not particularly a fan of the sixties flowers nor the tartan pattern for that matter BUT a relative was kind enough to give me part of her stock so I could train myself, so i’m training : you don’t knit your first scarf with Habu skeins right?
